Dean's
win awards
The
Collection
The
Collection, Dean's newest range, won two awards at the Grampian
Food Forum Innovation Awards on Wednesday 12 th March.
The
Johnston Carmichael Award for Best Marketing Plan
Bronze
Award for most innovative new retail product launched in 2007
The
Collection is a range of six indulgent flavoured shortbread biscuits
distinctively packaged in 120g size attractive Dean's branded printed
carton with black background, product shots and colour typescript
to differentiate the varieties. The introduction of the range is
a deliberate move from the more traditional tartan packaging used
for shortbread, designed, specifically for key export and UK Gift
markets.
Already,
the range can be found in many independent gift stores within the
UK and multiple gift outlets including Edinburgh Woollen Mill stores.
Commercial
Director Scott Kelman commented “We are delighted to have received
these awards. We have developed and introduced ‘The Collection'
specifically to capitalise on key market opportunities and it is
particularly pleasing to receive industry recognition for the range.”
The
Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards , now
in their 18th year, have regularly attracted high profile judges
with this year being no exception. The panel was chaired by Mr Stuart
Gates, Director of Signature Foods at Harrods, supported by Mr Peter
Hutchinson, Fleet Manager of Hotel Operation, NorthLink Ferries
Ltd and Mr Mick Whitworth, editor of Fine Food Digest and Artisan
.
