A FOND FAREWELL
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Dean Snr. Following a long illness, Bill passed away peacefully at home on Friday 26 th August. Bill, (73) co-founded Dean's of Huntly with his wife Helen in 1975 and was still involved in the family business acting as Company Chairman. Dean's Shortbread owes its very existence to Bill Dean Snr. Helen was inspired to sell her home made shortbread to raise funds for the Huntly Pipe Band of which Bill was Drum Major for many years. The popularity of the shortbread has taken the company from its humble beginnings in Helen's kitchen to a multi-million pound business employing over 130 staff. Bill Dean Jnr. Managing Director, will continue to run the family business on a day to day basis supported by Scott Kelman, Commercial Director, and Les McArthur, Operations Director while his mother, Helen, also remains as a non-executive Board member. Bill Dean Snr.will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
