Dean's
the No.1 Brand in Scotland!
Dean's shortbread continues
to be the shortbread preferred by the Scots according to recent
market data provided by TNS (Taylor Nelson Superpanel).
In a market which has grown
by 8% in the year to June 2004, Dean's shortbread commands an impressive
16% share – by far the leading brand in Scotland!
The Scottish market differs
from the rest of the UK with more brands being purchased as opposed
to retailer Private Labels. On a national scale the leading shortbread
brand overall is the private label M & S (St Michael) one, which
holds a 14.9 % share of the market. The comparable Dean's share
nationally is 6.1%
However, the Scottish scene
is totally different with Dean's commanding a 16% share, with the
St Michael brand back at 10.4% - clear evidence of the Scottish
consumers loyalty to Dean's making it the No.1 favourite.
