A Fond Farewell
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Helen Dean (aged 70) on Friday 7 September.
Dean's Shortbread owes its very existence to Helen; she first made her home made shortbread in her kitchen to sell to raise funds for the Huntly Pipe Band in which her husband, Bill, was Drum Major for many years.
The popularity of Helen's shortbread has taken the company from those humble beginnings in Helen's kitchen to a multi-million pound business now employing more than 140 staff.
As a non-executive Director, Helen maintained a keen interest in the continued development of Dean's and was particularly pleased to see the completion of the most recent project, the new Visitor Centre.
Although Helen's passing follows Bill Dean senior two years ago, the business remains a family one with Bill Dean junior as Managing Director supported by Scott Kelman as Commercial Director and Les McArthur as Operations Director.
Helen will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
