Dean's
Petit Deux wins Grampian Food Oscar
Petit Deux shortbread
- Dean's newest food service range, picked up a top industry
award - Most Innovative Foodservice Product Launched in
2006 - at the Grampian Food Forum Innovation Award Ceremony
held in Aberdeen's Marcliffe Hotel on the 14th March 2007.
The 20g ‘Petit Deux'
pack featuring two bite-sized luxury shortbread biscuits comes in
a choice of Raspberry & Oatmeal, Apple Crumble, Choc Chip and
Lemon Curd & Oatflake flavours. The biscuits are distinctively
packaged and are already proving popular within the food service
sector.
Managing Director Bill Dean
said " The new Petit Deux range was inspired by our other award-winning
products; the Petit Fours and the Scottish Fruit Preserves and,
by the demand for up-market food service packs. The success of the
Dean's range is still very much in our hand-baked methods, producing
a crumbly shortbread biscuit."
The Dean's Management Team
was delighted to pick up its second award of the evening in
the category of 'Most Successful Product from the
2006 Awards' for its Everyday Premium Range.
The range of Luxury All
Butter, Belgian Choc Chunk, Praline Pecan and Toasted Coconut Rounds
come in eight-biscuit 160g boxes. Originally conceived to offer
discerning biscuit lovers a luxury shortbread biscuit for everyday
eating, the popular range is now found in supermarkets and independent
retail stores throughout the UK.
The Grampian Food
Forum Innovation Awards, now in their 17th year, have regularly
attracted high profile judges with this year being no exception.
The panel was chaired by Ken McMeikan, Retail Director of Sainsbury,
supported by Natalie Minnis, Editor “The Scottish Grocer”, and Ronald
McDonald, Managing Director, Craig Group Foodservice Ltd.
