It’s been a while since the last video interview with Dean’s managing director, Bill Dean and it’s truly amazing all that has happened since the last interview.
In this short video, Bill talks with obvious pride about this year’s 40th anniversary. Yes, it’s 40 years since Bill’s mother, Helen Dean started baking shortbread from her kitchen in Huntly. Bill outlines some of the plans to celebrate this important milestone with a range of events planned throughout the year.
However, as Bill explains, there is much more to celebrate. New listings with supermarket chains and sales success in the speciality gift sector have assisted in an increase in turnover. Moreover, greater confidence in the economy, combined with greater stability in the commodities market, have also been factors in the recent growth at Dean’s.
Not being one to stand still, Bill also highlights some of the many changes and improvements that have been implemented in the business; the most recent of these is the addition of a customer lift in the Café Bistro to enable access for all to the upper seating area and viewing gallery. Whilst extensive refurbishment of the Gift Shop now enables Dean’s to offer a much wider range of quality products.
Finishing up, Bill further enforces Dean’s commitment to growth by announcing some land acquisition that will allow the reorganisation of the warehousing and production facilities, this will allow the business to take advantage of new opportunities and expand into more new markets.
It’s another enlightening interview where pride in the brand is obvious, and ambitions for the future are truly encouraging for all involved with the brand.
We look forward to catching up with Bill again soon to hear how the 40th anniversary celebrations are progressing, and to find out more about their ongoing expansion.
