2011 has been an extremely busy and exciting year for Dean’s ! Apart from a number of key new product launches we have been focusing heavily on developing the export side of the business. You will have noticed, from previous blog posts that we have been attending export trade shows such as the Gulfood Show in Dubai and the Summer Fancy Food Show in Washington, which is all part of our drive to increase the recognition of Dean’s products overseas.
We now export to 26 countries, including the USA, Germany, France, China, and Russia and enjoy excellent business in both the Middle and Far East. Who would have thought when Dean’s began in Helen’s kitchen 35 years ago that the shortbread would eventually be enjoyed around the world?
Imagine how delighted we were when we saw this picture of the Dean’s branded van sent to us from Regal Speciality Foods, our distributor in Mumbai, India. We can’t help but wonder what our founder Helen Dean would have thought of this? Could it be that the people of India will become as fond of our ‘melt in the mouth’ shortbread as we, the Scots, are of Indian cuisine? Thank you to Regal Speciality Foods for helping to spread the word about Dean’s in India, and we look forward to continued success there in 2012.
