It’s been an exceptionally cold week here in Scotland, with many folk in the south west and beyond struggling along without the luxury of electricity.  Last Friday’s storm was a big one by any standards, however as the Easter weekend approaches let’s hope that everyone is now getting back to normal.

We got a lovely letter in the post this week from Mrs Gilruth in Dumfriesshire, it certainly cheered us up so we thought we’d share it.
Thank you Mrs Gilruth for writing to us

Dear Dean’s,

after being stuck in the house for almost a week due to high winds, bitter cold & snow, I felt a bit fed-up.
I decided to have a coffee and something to cheer myself up, I hadn’t shopped for two weeks and was very low on nibbles.
I opened the cupboard and noticed a box of Dean’s shortbread on the top shelf, but the expiry date was 2nd May 2010.  Anyway I opened it and had two pieces of lovely shortbread, it was just as fresh as if I had just bought it.
So I’m just writing to say thank you, I really enjoyed it.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs Gilruth

Wherever you are, have a warm & very happy Easter from all the team at Dean’s!

(Please note – all Dean’s shortbread packs are manufactured with a recommended best before date)
