‘’It’s school holiday time again in Scotland and although we may not be able to guarantee wall to wall sunshine, we can promise lots to look forward to at Dean’s.
As you might already know it’s our 40th anniversary this year and as part of our celebrations we’re sending our much loved mascot Shortie out on a tour of Scotland through August – we’ve packed an umbrella, sun cream and ‘midgie’ repellent into his suitcase, so he’s all set! He might well be coming to a place near you so please look out for him. We’ll be posting lots of photos of his travels on our Facebook page and also inviting you to take a selfie with Shortie to win some great prizes. He’ll be starting his travels at the ‘Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Matchplay’ golf tournament at Murcar Links Golf Club in Aberdeen, followed by a jaunt to the Turriff Show so please say hello. Towards the end of the month Shortie will be visiting Aviemore, just in time for ‘Thunder in the Glens’, he’s particularly looking forward to that! Follow his journey through August on our Facebook page.
If you’re looking for a nice bite to eat with the kids during the holidays please pay our café bistro a visit. We’re in the process of updating our menus and have a great selection to choose from including breakfasts guaranteed to set you up for the day, as well as some delicious new desserts including our own home made pancakes. We can highly recommend our berrilicious pancake stack, served with berry coulis & Rizza’s vanilla ice cream – gorgeous whatever the weather! Our gift shop and café bistro are open 7 days so please pop in.
Our hard working factory staff are keeping our shortbread & biscuit production going at full speed through the summer. This is when we start gearing up for Christmas (sorry to mention it so early!). We’re busy building stock for the supermarkets, as well as our export & gift customers, so we have to make a start nice and early. You can see all the activity through the viewing windows in our gift shop and upstairs in our café bistro.
We hope you all have a great summer and remember if you see Shortie give him a big wave!’’
