A couple of weeks ago I posted on the blog announcing the Dean’s Active8 Team competing in the Glen Coe Mountain Challenge 2011 and promised to bring you regular updates about our progress.  I suppose this is the first milestone – the arrival of our team shirts!

Below is a picture of the team showing off our brand new tops courtesy of Marie Curie.

The team from left to right is:
Norman, Jennifer, Siobhan, Elaine, Les, Heather, Amanda & Arnoldas
The arrival of our shirts may seem a fairly small thing but it has helped to focus our minds on the fact that this is a team effort with everyone playing their part.  We have set ourselves an ambitious target of £2000 but, we are encouraged that we have already received some donations and you can keep track of these on or Just Giving updater at the top right of the page. You can also use the “Donate” button on the updater to make a donation if you wish.
Finally, we would remind you it’s not just donations we need; we are looking for people or organisations to sponsor some of the equipment we need to take part in the challenge so, if you can help with any of the following we would be extremely grateful:

• Return transport from Huntly to Glen Coe
• Energy snacks and drinks
• Rucksacks for the team
• Walking socks
• Waterproof clothing
• Walking poles
• Survival bags and whistles

If you feel you can help please get in touch with us through our Facebook or Twitter pages, we would be very happy to hear from you. You can also email me at

Thanks for taking the time to read our blog, for and on behalf of Dean’s Activ8.

Finally, if you know anyone who might be interested in Dean’s please use the Facebook, Twitter and Share buttons below to tell them about us.
