Caramelised Onion Puff Pastry Tart
This tasty savoury tart recipe is easy to follow and perfect for a light bite.
600g white onion
5 tsp olive oil
Ready made puff pastry (cut to size)
1 egg (beaten)
3 tsp dijon mustard
50g parmesan (grated)
1 tsp thyme
50g Deans Extra Mature Cheddar and Caramelised Onion Bites (crushed to breadcrumb consistency)
Follow The Steps
Finely slice onions. Slowly cook on low heat in lidded pan for around 30 minutes, stir every few minutes.
Remove the lid and cook on high heat stirring continuously for around 5 mins.
Heat oven to 220C/200C Fan.
Unroll and cut ready made puff pastry to desired size.
Spread dijon mustard leaving 2cm edge around pastry, use egg to glaze the border.
Spread onions evenly across mustard base. Then, mix parmesan, thyme, Deans Extra Mature Cheddar and Caramelised Onion Bites and add on top of the onions.
Bake for 15-18 mins until pastry is golden brown.
